2007 Events
- In August of 2007, Grace Zbiegien and Dean Muzina, two exemplary students entering their final year of elementary school, were each awarded $1,000 in receipt of the annual Michelle’s Wish Scholarship for the 2007-08 school year. The award was based on their outstanding academic qualifications, their strong recommendations by various members of faculty and their embodiment of attributes important to the Foundation, including 1) a celebration and love of life and family, 2) a possession of beauty – both inside and out, 3) an admirable strength amidst adversity and 4) an effortless care for and positive impact on others.
- In December of 2007, the Foundation contributed to the Cleveland Foodbank in an effort to provide critical financial resources necessary to supply food to multiple community organizations that feed the hungry in the Cleveland-area.
- Finally, through a partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation and its Adopt-A-Wish program, a wish will be granted to Krista. Krista’s wish was to some day visit Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL. Though Krista’s heart transplant may at times limit her activities, she has received permission from her doctors to make the trip of her dreams. In November, a check was presented to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, enabling Krista to enjoy a memorable trip to Orlando in mid-December, 2007.
